Overview


The 500 hour yoga teacher training in Rishikesh is held over 2-months. It is for those who are willing to learn yoga teachings of traditional methods. The training builds a strong foundation for yoga practices holistically. Trainees will take 2 back-to-back training of 200-hour yoga teacher training followed by the 300-hour yoga teacher training. There will be a short break for your practice and self-study between the courses. In our yoga course, we ensure to support personal and spiritual growth by bringing spirituality into the yoga practices.

The curriculum covers meditation, yoga nidra, yoga anatomy, yoga philosophy, asana practices, pranayama, and cleansing techniques. We focus on Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga for asana practices. The course is carefully designed for a supportive, comfortable, and safe journey. The 500 hour yoga teacher training in India is an intensive course to become a registered yoga teacher. The RYT 500 certification exam has been developed by our skilled and certified yoga teachers to recognize knowledgeable individuals in the fitness industry. The exam follows the code of conduct and guidelines from Yoga Alliance USA. Nirvana Yoga School follows the reliable and valid process of implementation and development of the exams. However, you must follow some rules in order to appear in the examination.

Candidate must complete all the training sessions for the 500-hour Yoga training in Rishikesh. The training module, resources, and study materials will be provided by the school. The questions will include the basic yoga knowledge and asana practice taught during the course.

What a great experience!

My experience at Nirvana Yoga School has been beyond what I ever expected. This place felt more like a family than just a school. Guru Dhruvji, in particular, paid special attention to our comfort, making sure every student had a calming environment both in the classroom and in our rooms. The music and speakers provided to each student were a wonderful touch that helped maintain a serene atmosphere. The food was prepared with utmost care, ensuring it was sattvic and made with cold-pressed sunflower oil, which made the experience feel holistic. Guru Dhruvji’s approach wasn’t just about training; he was approachable and helped us in many aspects of our lives, offering counselling and support to help us sort out personal issues. I also have to mention the special snacks he provided in the philosophy class, ensuring I didn’t miss his teachings while keeping us nourished. The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable, well-experienced, and truly dedicated to their students' growth. A special thank you to the admin team (Sachinji, Udayji, and Sanjuji) for their prompt responses and support in helping me enrol. The extra activities, like yoga by the Ganga river, Sunday excursions, sound healing, Sadhana, kirtan (every saturday) and acro yoga, were a cherry on top of the whole experience. My yoga journey began a year ago when I was just a student to focus on my health and flexibility, but slowly I understood the depth of yoga as it is beyond just asanas. I was searching for a yoga school in Rishikesh to study my 200 hours. After doing all my research, the universe helped me to find Nirvana Yoga School in Rishikesh. I felt a very positive vibe after going through their website and videos. I messaged Sachin sir for completing my 200 hours yttc online and purchased the course. He was very helpful and replied promptly. I started learning online and all the videos were super informative and the teaching methods of all the teachers were very clear and in depth. This gave me clarity to complete my 300 hours yttc from going to Rishikesh in this school. I arrived on 1st dec and I could feel the spiritual energy of Rishikesh as this school is situated at foothills on Himalayas. It is situated behind a waterfall and the dining area has a beautiful garden. I understood the breathing technique and exact meaning of pranayama during his classes. He also begun all the classes with mantra chanting which made the environment so spiritual. We also had alignment and adjustments classes by Amit sir. The classes were explained in detail about all the asanas. He explained in a very simple way and it was very informative as each asanas should be performed in a perfect way. We also had yoga therapy and Ayurveda classes which only Niravana school in entire Rishikesh offers. The classes helped us to understand more about our body and how yoga helps us to be more healthy. The most important were the Yoga philosophy classes and Guru ji taught took a few classes. His wisdom helped me to accept myself more and see the light within me and to also see what is beyond the light. Our other philosophy teacher vivek sir has alot of knowledge and taught us how to start our yoga journey mentally. During afternoon we had our Ashtanga classes. I had never tried Ashtanga Vinyasa before but just of Naveen sir and his teachings, I could perform so many asanas which increased my strength and flexibility. The intense flow of Ashtanga with breath work has made me fall in love the yoga practice more. We had meditation classes in evening by Meghna ma’am. She is super sweet and made the meditation more sweeter with her positive energy. She helped us to go from dharana to dhayana which was super blissful. We did chakras meditation and yog nidra which was a beautiful experience. Her classes were always about the experience and feelings after meditation which was really important to understand more about our thoughts and our own selves. It was the best way to end our day. All the classes were fun and knowledgeable. The entire learning experience was extremely rewarding because of all the teachers. Our favourite time was eating breakfast together in the garden with mountain view in the winters with bright light of the sun. I came here for 200h and then for 300h, and it was one of the best decisions in my life! The school is in a new building, have all amenities you need, the yoga halls are big, have a lot of windows, light, and air and stunning view. The food is tasty and fresh, the stuff is helpful and kind. But the most important are the teachers and the organization team behind. The teachers are really the best! They have a very deep knowledge about yogic life and the subjects they teach. They all have an impressive vita and are long-year practitioner of what they teach, so you feel a lot of personal experience there as well. They treat every student very personal, building strong connections and give their knowledge with a lot of compassion. The management and the staff behind the school are amazing people, they always take care of the students, doesn't matter what you need, they always wear a smile on their face and a warmth in their heart.
